Update: 9/6/09 4PM

"Sorry it has been a little while since I gave all you faithful bloggers something to read! Jaron and Teagan are both doing well... still finishing out their antibiotics for their infections which seem to be healing! And they are both eating and growing like champs :-) They take turns in passing each other in weight, Teagan is now 2 lbs 10 oz, and Jaron is 2 lbs 8 oz. Jaron is now eating 20 ml's and Teagan is 18 (or 19? all the sudden I am drawing a blank). That 3 pound mark isn't very far away!!

They are still on the vents to help them breathe, which means they have a breathing tube going down their mouths. Pray that when they start weaning them from the vents it will be a MIRACULOUS time span, that it will be quick. Obviously, going off of the vents means their lungs are getting stronger, but it will also be great to have those tubes out of them because they are such a source of infection.

This past Thursday made them 4 weeks old.... I can't believe it's been a month already. It truly has gone fast, so I am praying the next two go just as fast, so we can bring our babies home!

Much love,

  1. I am rejoicing with you and each step of growth and healing with Teagan and Jaron! Thanks for the update because it helps me know how to continue to pray for your babies and your family.

    With much care and prayer,
    Audrey Rohrer

  2. It is amazing how quickly the time went! I cannot wait till you get to bring the babes home!

Just checked in after being away for a couple of weeks travelling in Tanzania. Congratulations on one month! The progress sounds so good, and we keep praying!

To give you courage -- we have good friends who worked in Botswana with us, and their daughter was very early -- like the twins. She is now a strong, attractive young adult; so these miracles do happen! And we are confident they will happen with Jaron and Teagan.

    Blessings --

  4. Wow! I can't believe it! God is so good and I am sure your mama heart is exploding with joy. We are continually praying for you and believing GREAT things for these precious babies and for you all. We are expecting three pounds in no time at all and for continual health for your sweet babes.

  5. Great report! They are gaining weight like little champs! When Kezi was weaned from her vent, the doctors told us she might need a trach (since she was on the vent so long and so very sickly). They had told us she was surely going to go home with oxygen! Ha, Ha, Ha! God showed them! She got weaned so quickly that the doctors were so amazed! We will believe the same for Teagon and Jaron! Let us know when it will work for us to see these two miracles! Love you, Donna Smith for Clyde, too! We keep praying for you all of you!
