MITCH

Today, as noted in THIS POST, we are doing something new and asking that you cry out to the Lord for one family member, specifically, in addition to your time spent praying over the twins and family.

Today we ask that you pray for Mitch.

Ask God for words of encouragement, scripture, dreams, visions and thoughts to share with the twins' Daddy, Mitch. Then come back to this blog and add your comments below so that he can read them and be blessed.

Thanks for all of the prayers and words of encouragement lifted up for Heather yesterday. Let's do it again for Mitch. I know God wants to encourage this family and to bless them with His voice, His words and His thoughts for them all.

  1. Good morning, Mitch!

Of all the statements in the Word, there is one that's stands out in a mighty way to me personally. Tie this one around your neck, my brother:

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (New Living Translation)

NIV puts it this way: "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

He is with you. He isn't going anywhere. He is wise, compassionate, and strong. He knows everything. And it is this One that is with you today and always! Wow. I will pray for you to rest in this truth. Your big brother is with you, your King with all authority is at your side. No worries, mate!

  2. Good Morning Mitch,

Just wanted you to know we are holding you up in prayer. We pray that you will feel peace and strength for each moment and day. We will continue to keep updated through the blog.

Isaiah 43:2-3a When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

We love you, and are praying for you,

    Scott and Jo Landis

  4. Mitch,

My prayer for you is that in this race and journey of the twins in the NICU, you would lean not on your own strength but the strength of Our Father and His Spirit. You are a Dad, you are protector, provider, rescuer, hero to your wife and your children. My prayer for you is that you would never feel that you have to strive to fill that role. Because you do not and God, your Father, protector, provider, rescuer and hero has it covered for you.

Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, Says the Lord Almighty."

Isaiah 40:26 "Lift your eyes to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out rhe starry host one by one and calls them each by name. Because of his GREAT POWER and his MIGHT SRENGTH not one of them is missing."

The same God that created the stars and hung them in the sky is your Daddy nad is going before you in this time. He has got it covered.

    We love you.

  5. Hey Mitch-
This is your cousin-in-law from the "other" coast. Lord willing, we will get to meet one day. Was with Corey this past weekend and found out about this whole blog site. What a wonderful and amazing thing technology is.

I just wanted you to know that my wife and I are standing with You and Heather and the family in prayer through this God glorifying time. I just want to encourage you to stand firm on the Word of God and the Truth that it is. He is so good and so faithful to fulfill all of His promises. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Isn't it great to know that we can cast ALL of our cares over to our heavenly Father and He will take care of everything.

Just a few verses that have been in my world lately and remind me of God's "Godness". It blows my mind every time I really stop and realize how amazing He is. They have helped me realize that the reason we don't understand everything that happens on this earth is because we are not God's peers. It would be like me thinking I should understand the Theory of Relativity. God is outside of time and all the circumstances we see as trials in this blip of a life we have, He sees as part of His perfect plan that runs through eternity. It comforts me to know that He knows how today fits into 50 years from now, perfectly. I love you all and look forward to meeting the whole family one day soon. Lord willing we will be in Lancaster sometime in November. May God be lifted up!

    Deuteronomy 29:29
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. [NIV]

    Isaiah 55:8-9
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. [9] "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. [NIV]

    John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. [NIV]

    Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! [5] Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. [6] Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    1 Peter 1:5-7
who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. [6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. [7] These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. [NIV]

    Exodus 14:13-14
[13] Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. [14] The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." [NIV]
