Update - 8/17/09

Hello, faithful blog followers and prayer warriors. Here is another wonderful update from the family:

"Hello again to all our family and friends. I am sure you are all wondering how Jaron and Teagan have been doing, and they are still very stable! Teagan had her follow up echo today and her PDA (the vessel in her heart) has gotten smaller! So she won't need any more meds, and we won't need any surgery for that! How faithful is our God :-) The medical staff was able to get Teagan's PICC line in the other day, first try! Jaron, they are trying about the third time for him, as we speak, 10:00 pm Monday, 8/17. I just called into the NICU to see if they tried again and she said they were in the process. We are praying the Lord guides that small catheter through the vein and outside his heart!!

The twins' feedings are going well! They are both now on 7 cc's, and they say they will keep bumping them up everyday as long as their belly's digest it! This is what we want, them eating so they grow and mature! Jaron is at 1lb 13 oz, and Teagn 1lb 14oz. They are each just so precious, and have captured the hearts of so many. Especially the hearts of their mommy and daddy :-)

Thanks again for all your warfare for our children, the battle is definitely being won.

Love,
Heather (for the rest of the fam too)"

  2. "Praise our AWESOME Lord!!!" Every day Clyde comes home from work and asks if I heard anything about the twins. They are so much in our prayers! We pray that they will not have any complications like Keziah did. Just looking at their pictures, it makes such a difference of what a few extra weeks in the womb does. Keziah had no "meat/speck" on their bones and the twins look really good!

Heather and Mitch, continually stand strong and stand firm in Jesus! He will continue to pour out His blessings and anointing upon you and your three Bundle of Joys.

Also, speak, in the Name of Jesus, to the twins eyes and specifically their blood vessels that will grow properly, right time and right speed and right place. (I think is the reason and how it is) with all the oxygen from the ventilators the blood vessels can grow quicker and then go where they aren't to go. When that occurrs in other little ones they need laser surgery. This occurred for Kezi and why the doctors are concerned about her eyes so much - we believe she sees out of her left eye, even thought doctors don't.

If you need anything, please let us know. If you need someone to watch Kaylan anytime, let us know and hopefully we can help out.

God's grace, grace, grace to you! Love and blessings always!

    Rejoicing in Jesus,
    Donna Smith

  4. Heather, thank you for keeping us posted. We rejoice with you and Mitch and your families. Hooray, hooray and hallelujah. May His kingdom continue to come on this planet. Many stand with you. Stand and see the glory of our God.

Exodus 14:13 (New International Version) Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.

1 Samuel 12:16 (New International Version) "Now then, stand still and see this great thing the LORD is about to do before your eyes!

2 Chronicles 20:17 (New International Version) You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.' "

I'm sure you and Mitch remember Pastor Ron's teachings from this passage in 2 Chronicles. Both your and Mitch's lives are all about the front lines of worship. Continue to walk in your gifts of honoring the King. He is so worthy. And Faithful!!!

I hope you can tangible feel the love that surrounds you all, too! Liz

  5. Mitch & Heather -
We are so excited to hear that the twins continue to do so well. Your family has been on our thoughts and in our prayers the past week and a half. I am always checking to see if there are any updates on them. God is so good and I can't wait to see what He has in store for the future of these two little babes. What a testimony they will have of how much God loves us! The verse that comes to my mind every time I think of the twins is Jeremiah 29:11-13. The Lord has great plans for your babies and your family.

We will continue to uphold you in prayer that you will lean against the Lord and that he will provide you the strength and endurance to adjust to your new normal. We also pray that you will continue to be a light to all those around you and that the Lord may touch each nurse and doctor that comes into contact with the twins. We love you guys and please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything you need. We would be happy to help you out in any way possible.

  6. Pernel and I continue to lift the whole family up daily. We continue to pray without ceasing, giving thatnk to God for his "amazingness". He just continues to astonish me with His goodness and greatness everyday. May the peace of God continue to comfort you all and may the Joy of Lord continue to strengthen you. Glory! We love you guys and pray we get to see all of you sometime later this fall.
